Shaping the Future of Phosphorus Recovery in Europe ♻️ 

After five years of intensive research and innovation, the EU-funded FlashPhos project is reaching an important milestone. On 21 April 2026, the FlashPhos consortium will host its Final Conference in Leoben, Austria, bringing together experts from industry, research, and policy to reflect on achievements and discuss the next steps for Europe’s phosphorus value chain.
Europe’s dependency on imported white phosphorus remains a strategic challenge. FlashPhos has demonstrated a full-scale, circular process to recover high-quality white phosphorus from sewage sludge, paving the way for greater resource independence and sustainable raw material supply.
