Successful Participation at the BASF Drying Symposium 2025

Ludwigshafen – May 2025 – Buss-SMS-Canzler, a global leader in advanced thermal separation technology, participated in this year’s BASF Drying Symposium, which took place from May 13–14, 2025 in Ludwigshafen. The event brought together industry experts to exchange ideas and insights on the latest developments and innovations in drying technology.

One of the highlights of our participation was the technical presentation by Tim Holtkamp, titled
“Efficient Drying Solutions – Innovations in Thin Film Drying.”
His talk sparked lively discussions on process optimisation and highlighted the potential of thin film drying in terms of energy efficiency and sustainability.

In addition to the presentation, participants had the opportunity to meet our experts at the Buss-SMS-Canzler information stand, where our model of a thin film dryer provided a tangible insight into our technology. We were especially pleased that our Head of Sales, Hendrik Springmann, was on site to engage in many valuable conversations and share his expertise.

At Buss-SMS-Canzler, we offer customised contact drying technologies for a wide variety of feed materials, including solutions, suspensions, slurries, pastes, filter cakes, and moist granules. Our solutions are based on decades of experience and a large number of industrial applications, supported by extensive trials in our own test centre.

The advantages of contact drying lie in the direct heat transfer between the product and the heated surface — without the use of hot air. This significantly reduces the need for air treatment and eliminates energy losses associated with air discharge. Our broad product portfolio allows us to tailor drying systems to a wide range of customer-specific requirements.

We would like to thank BASF for organising this excellent event and all visitors for their interest and stimulating discussions.
